Our Journey
OUR STORY
Our firm was founded with a clear mission: to provide access to quality financial advisors for small businesses that have long been overlooked by larger firms. Pratik started this firm because he saw firsthand how many entrepreneurs—who pour their heart, time, and resources into their businesses—were left without the strategic financial guidance they needed to truly grow and succeed.
Too often, accountants and advisors focused only on compliance—filing reports, meeting standards, and looking backward—while business owners needed more. They needed a partner who could interpret the numbers, uncover opportunities, and provide real insights that drive growth, not just check a box.
He realized that not everyone understands numbers the way he does, and that gap was holding back great entrepreneurs from scaling their businesses and getting the value they deserved—whether through expansion, acquisition, or a successful exit.
That’s why he built this firm: to serve as a financial quarterback for small businesses, guiding them through challenges, helping them scale, and positioning them for long-term success. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a business grow and knowing that we’ve played a part in its journey.
THE FOUNDER
PRATIK MEHTA, MAcc, CM&AA, CPA, CA
I've been around small businesses since I was 7 years old—whether it was working in the back of a warehouse, providing front-office support, or engaging directly with customers. I've been a part of it all, which has shaped my understanding of what it takes to make a business thrive.
With over 15 years of experience in accounting, finance, and business strategy, I've built a career specializing in financial strategy, tax optimization, and business advisory services.
I earned my Masters of Accounting from the University of Waterloo in 2011 and obtained my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation in 2013. I spent over a decade at Grant Thornton LLP, advising mid-sized businesses across industries such as retail, construction, logistics, and distribution. My work in the National Auditing Standards Group involved developing training materials, supporting complex audit engagements, and collaborating with global member firms to implement enhanced methodologies.
In 2018, I transitioned into executive leadership as a CFO and business owner in the hospitality industry, where I successfully scaled and exited the business. Over the past seven years, I've worked with clients in executive and financial leadership roles, refining my expertise in business acquisitions, financial strategy, and transaction advisory.
I am an active board member and Treasurer of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), contributing my financial expertise to support and advance the business brokerage profession.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing golf, and competing in fantasy sports. As a car enthusiast and foodie, I love exploring new restaurants and the latest in automotive innovation.
